Thursday, August 11, 2005 ::: Attention all plane freaks, or more specifically, Virgin Atlantic fans, check this out! (esp my pal who also owns a VS mug!) I promise, this is awesome. I've never seen anything quite like this before honestly. amazing facts: Fact #1. Virgin has designed this website to promote VS routes between the US and UK. And guess what, I think this microsite really works. Virgin succeeds in restoring the glamor and appeal to air travel. If I have the time AND the cash I'd surely hop on ANY of those flights (and get booked on one of the Upper Suites) right away. Fact #2. Virgin has created a new term - 'Jetrosexual' - for this campaign. You may not like this word, or it may sound stupid to you, but at least they're bold enough to think out of the box. If you're still wondering what Jetrosexual truly means, substitute 'Jetro' to 'Metro' in the word 'Metrosexual' and you get the idea. (a.k.a. frequent travellers). And no, Jetrosexual has nothing to do with sex or sexual preferences. Fact #3. Virgin's naming each flight according to the mood of the flight. The 'Trance Atlantic' from Miami to London is my favorite of all. Who wouldn't want to fly on 'The Higher Flier' on the prime New York JFK - London LHR route? Fact #4. You can enter their Ultimate Jetrosexual competition if you like to win a pair of Upper Class tickets to London. Just read their 11 commandments before entering. Even if you don't plan to, at least you can have a good laugh. sadly, Fact #5. Their economy product is not that superior, although I heard their V:port IFE is fab, leg-space service meals FAs etc etc aren't all that great. but still, Fact #6. VS is now top on my list.
